I am very grateful that I had the opportunity to take Educational Technology, especially as a sophomore. This class really opened me up to a whole new world of tech that I never even knew existed. I do believe that because the technological world will be exponentially growing and expanding, our skills as teachers need to as well. Technology can assist so many students for so many things and I have come to realize that it is a waste to not utilize this in the classroom. From apps on the iPad, social media, video games, educational TV, formative assessments, smart boards, and Eno boards, there are an unlimited amount of resources that teachers can use to assist their students in their learning and development.
This class served as an inspiration of who I want to be as a teacher. I want to be adaptive, creative, and extremely knowledgable about the tech services that are provided to me and my future school. I want to continue to educate myself on the new and upcoming tech devices that will serve as an aid in my classroom. I am very excited to learn more about educational technology as I grow up and graduate, however, this class really opened me up to being comfortable with this tech and familiar with it as well. Overall, I had a really great experience and I truly think this class gave me an appropriate jumpstart and a friendly reminder that education can be much more beneficial if it includes the appropriate technology along with it.
