Ipads have been been becoming more and more popular in classrooms everywhere. They are used to allow students to access education applications, videos, take pictures, and even type assignments. They are cheaper than computers and other similar devices, plus they are portable, but are they really worth the hype? According to the author of this article they really might be. She brought up features of the ipad that made me appreicate them more, and become curious as to whether people are using the ipad to their full advantage. She said that today most people are kinesthetic learners. This is a “learning style in which learning takes place by the students carrying out physical activities, rather than listening to a lecture or watching demonstrations.” The ipad helps with this learning tactic. The ipad allows you to do so many things with it. It allows you to use the accelerometers it contains to help measure angles. Acceleration, rates of force, and allow you to take field notes or well documented photos of the whole expeirence. The ipad really adds to the possibilities of hands on learning that a just a wooden ruler would not be able to accomplish.
