I found the reading for this week to be really interesting, as it made a connection between our Ed Tech class, and my Autism class with Dr. Allcock.  The Minecraft article describes Autcraft, a server on Minecraft that “gives autistic players the chance to meet and talk with likeminded children, hone crucial social skills, and learn to feel comfortable with themselves and in their new environment”.  Some parents mentioned in the article that their children’s social skills, reading, typing, and confidence increased after beginning to use Autcraft.  Students say that they suddenly feel “worthy” and “part of something bigger”.

Through Autcraft, children are able to comfortably and safely communicate and connect with peers similar to them.  Autcraft removes the tendency for bullying to occur, and students feeling alone.
