Social Media and Education

While this was the article I focused on, I more wanted to write about my views on social media and its effects on kids. Recently, I have been trying my best to stay off things like Facebook, Twitter, etc. as much as I can. I am beginning to find that while social media has revolutionized the way our world is connected, it has had a detrimental effect on actual communication. People struggle to stay attentive at almost everything they do, and it is causing more social isolation for kids. Personally, I believe that social media has had a more negative impact than positive.

That said, it does have its educational pros. Students are now able to connect with one another easier than ever. Getting in touch with people you may not know too well is easier than ever, and social media even provides the person with a small insight into who it is their trying to reach.
